Tried a free taster and my rabbit absolutely loved them all , so ordered 2.5kg of Timothy blend and 2.5kg of Orchard. Both going down a treat! Hay is boxed well, looks and smells so fresh. Wont get my hay from anywhere else now, thank you HayBox- very happy customer

I’m really glad I decided to try Haybox!
The trial pack is such a good idea, as you only pay postage and get to try four different types of hay. There was a lovely amount of each, and my three bunnies liked the Timothy Hay Soft Cut best, followed by the Timothy Hay Blend.
Before trying Haybox, I was getting worried because my bunnies weren’t interested in the hay I bought from shops and seemed to prefer their pellets. After seeing Haybox’s adverts and reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did!
I’ve now ordered two 5kg boxes and was surprised by how much hay comes in one box. I’ll attach some pictures to show you!
I’ve never written a review before, but I genuinely wanted to share my experience. My bunnies are finally enjoying their hay, which makes me so happy!

For the first time since I switched to haybox, im so disappointed by this order. The meadow hay was great and as expected, but the Timothy hay is awful. The entire bales are tiny, dusty little shreds rather than the long beautiful strands I usually get, its extremely poor quality.
I ordered 2 bales of Timothy hay and both are as terrible as each other - you can see how poor they are from the outside of the bag!

Cannot recommend Haybox enough! The first box I ordered arrived damaged and unusable, I believe it was probably a delivery mishap as it was soaked wet wrapped in tape and falling apart. I sent the photos to Haybox expecting them to say it’s the post office fault and planning on trying elsewhere but instead I received a new box sent out immediately and such amazing customer service. I have since been ordering every month and the boxes are the greenest longest freshest stemmed hay I’ve seen. I had no idea how brown, thin and old usual shop bought hay bags were. I will continue to be a loyal customer to Haybox, haven’t found anything that even comes close! My bunnies absolutely love it and I have definitely noticed a difference in the amount of hay they eat!

It is delivered to the Isle of Wight. It comes when it says it will. Guinea pigs love it. It is green and not brown shrivelled stuff. It keeps well.

Brooklyn and Chelsea Bun just love this hay. As soon as I open a new box they are straight in! Chelsea Bun has digestive problems but this hay suits her. Delivery time is excellent and it is easy to contact Hay Box if you need to. No bots!

Normally I love this hay and so do my piggies. This time the hay is super dusty (like clouds of dust when you pull some out) and there are chunks of dried mud in it too.

I’ve been ordering haybox for a few years now and the quality has always been really good. It has minimal dust, the hay is good quality and the delivery comes really quickly. I have never had issues with bad hay ever.
Also, i think this worker at your warehouse ‘Kay’ has been packaging my orders the past couple of times and i just wanted to say i thought it’s really cute!! Thank you !! my bunnies love it.

I first ordered a tester to see if my guinea pigs like the hay. They adored it! I have ordered 10kg bales of this fragrant hay as the quality exceeded what I was buying in pet store. I do not like to complain but I have received an email to review the product. Unfortunately this time I just received a bag of dust and chopped hay. I have reported the issue and was advised to purchase the hand picked next time. I am sure the hand picked hay is of much better quality but unfortunately i am out of pocket now by around £50 as I can’t warrant spending £10-£15 to return the item.

The problem was this time it was especially a lot of dust and short cuts, literally like it must have been the bottom of the barrel or over cut. Very disappointing this time and a lot of waste.
I have ordered blends before and coarse cuts and this was the worst yet.

The hay is nice quality but the box is a bit awkward. I'd love a taller, narrower box with a large perforated section that you can push in so you can reach a hand in and grab some hay without it flying out everywhere.

This is the first time I re-order from Haybox after a long pause from my subscription due to poor quality of hay not the same as before when I stopped it, but disappointingly, I found a dead cockroach squashed between the hay after a week when I topped up the hay for my buns. I freaked out and had to throw the entire box away.

Thank you Haybox for pur subscription! We've used haybox for years for our guinea but especially recently we need to give haybox kudos for switching courier and ensuring a really reliable service. We had issues in the past with the other couriers with shipments going missing but since using DHL they arrive super quickly and no problems :)

We have ordered from Hay Box for 10+ years now. All of my past and present rabbits love the hay especially long crunchy bits lol. Always comes packed really nicely and very fast. The reason for 4 stars not 5 is because dependant on time of year we find we get some boxes with alot of dust and small pieces of hay and sometimes it’s a little brown and soft which our rabbits don’t like so we end up throwing some out but that’s just because of the weather and time of year I would assume! Still great quality, good pricing and super quick delivery which is what you want!

Used for years however my guinea pigs started getting mites since the last box of my hay got it cleared up with vets. Received another box of the hay and bang mites again. Hay box obviously denied it and basically said it had came from my guinea pigs environment! (Who’s cleaned daily and on cavee fleece liner) family member had same problem and a boarding I use advised against it after it infested the guinea pigs. Subscription now canceled. More vet fees to pay out!

This batch of compressed bales is very stalky, which is why I stopped ordering the loose hay in boxes (which is very stalky). My guinea pigs love their Haybox hay usually but they hardly eat the stalky bits so are wasting a lot. The soft cut hay is too soft so I’ve stopped ordering it too.

This is a good quality blend. My guinea pigs are enjoying it. Echo loves the soft flat leaves, and Albert tucks into the seed heads before anything else, so its a great combo mix for my two boys.
Echo always lets me know when more hay is needed.

Absolutely lush hay, very green, nice long bits, nice amount of the little fluffy things my guinea pigs love it and my allergies love it (in a good way!). I had been using compressed hay from elsewhere which was a lot cheaper and a lot more for the money and I was really worried that Haybox hay wouldn't last long but it really has. I think because it's longer strands, I chose the boxed by hand because I'm sick of compressed hay and every bit of it is usable and full, whereas before with my previous brand of hay it was very dusty and had lots of little rubbishy bits (which made my allergies go crazy). Very happy with this hay, love that you can get the little samples too to check which hay you prefer (or the guineas prefer!). Also ordered the little airplanes this time too to stuff with hay and forage, super cute.

I understand that things will get into the hay during harvest but my box is full of these dead bugs and im having to sift through and get rid of them so that I dont serve them to my rabbits. The odd one or 2 is understandable but ive found 11 now and im not even half way through

Another delivery for us, we have been buying and loving the blend 10kg since July 2025 and both my daughters buy the same for their guinea pigs.
I always smile when I reach in twice daily to change and or top up their C&C cages because it smells incredible. It still smells incredible right at the bottom of the box as well.
We always have extras when we order and the plantain and forage mixes are beautiful and smell incredible. We have also bought:
Gnaw Log, Willow Chew Sticks, Natural Willow Ring, Willow Balls, Grass Balls, Aeroplane Hideaway, Natural chew Carrot, Banana Leaf Carrot, Wacky Wobblers, Natural Grass Carrot, Natural Willow Hay Rack and everything has been a great price and they love them!

Fresh, green, sweet smelling hay. My two chinchillas are always at the hay bag waiting when I get the box out to fill it up for them. They go nuts for it and won’t eat anything else. If I run out and have to get emergency hay from pet stores I get a look of deep disgust.
