Timothy Coarse Cut Hay Box
Coarse cut is high in fiber, coarse & stalky. It has more stems and less leaf. Perfect to feed on its own or to mix with our other hays. If you're looking for something with a bit more leaf with less stems, we suggest trying our ‘Timothy Blend’ instead. Some fussier eaters prefer more leaf to stems.

My buns love this hay! We bought the blend originally which they also loved but thought we’d try the corse cut! They love all the chunky hay head pieces and this hay has given them golden poops! Which is the holy grail for most bunny owners to see! Love it!

To be honest, I was wary to place this order since I wasn't impressed with the last box of coarse cut Timothy hay, it had very short pieces and a lot of leaves and small bits that my chinchillas throw out.
Thankfully you have redeemed yourselves and this box of coarse cut is back to your usual high standards.
I put some in and the little ones pounced on it straight away. That counts as high praise since it was the middle of the day and they are usually asleep!
Please keep to this high quality hay that I have come to expect from you.
If you could get rid of the plastic bag inside the box though - that would make it 5 star plus.

Not as good quality as I usually get from you. The hay is usually quite long pieces which is what my bunnies like to eat but this recent bag was full of fine short dusty pieces which they do not like to eat, so as a result I am throwing most of it away

Extremely disappointed in this hay, I have come to open it today and the box that I store my hay in to keep it fresh and sealed is covered I mean absolutely crawling in mites, can have only come from the hay, I have binned the hay and my box, I've had to disinfect everything . . . will not be buying again which is a shame as I have used yourself for a long time now

Love how it now comes in bags, I had just had to throw out 3 boxes of this hay as we had a leak and the hay was mouldy, and I was looking at bags to cover the hay but this has solved that issue! My bunnies won't touch any other hay and the quality is 5* Everytime!

I was sceptical at first when the hay arrived packed in plastic as I try to reduce my plastic waste, but the quality is much better and it stays like this for a longer time, less dust. also actually easier to store that way. Overall the hay quality is superb, much better than shop hay.

Love the new packaging, we keep it in a big black feed bin and can now leave it in the bag which is much easier than emptying the box into the bin.
The hay is as described, long coarse strands which our rabbit thoroughly enjoys!

Since the move from boxes of hay to bags that fit in a third of the space, the hay doesn't feel like it's going so far - that's anecdotal rather than scientific, but then to have a switch from DPD to Yodel soon after definitely feels like standards are slipping a little. What's the point of ordering hay if it's being sent with what most people agree is the least reliable courier service in the UK. Not really impressed with the changes.

I love this hay for for buns but i can’t honestly understand why they have changed from DPD to Yodel longer delivery times and 2 hours delivery windows instead of 1

We’ve subscribed for a long time but the new packaging means hay is more compressed, broken, shorter strands and seems much dustier. We have much more waste and our rabbits aren’t eating as much and they haven’t been able to burrow down in it to keep warm.

Instead of the usual cardboard box, the hay now comes in a sealed plastic bag hidden inside the box.
Not only using environmentally damaging plastic, but wasting perfectly good cardboard to keep the visual appeal.
I'm sure I will not be the only customer they've lost due to this decision

Really good quality fresh smelling course Timothy hay. Hay box packages the hay in recyclable packaging and appropriate size boxes. My rabbit loves this hay and I won't go anywhere else for my rabbit's hay needs.

Great quality hay. Not many people know that hay needs to be green to be nutritious (straw or brown ‘bedding’ hay is a no), and as a veterinary nurse I personally will not feed anything else! Long stems which the bunnies really enjoy. Low dust but inherent to have some. Coarse and fibrous, great for their teeth and mental stimulation. I am actually allergic to this hay, but it’s worth it for the bunnies health and enjoyment!

Really poor quality compared to all previous orders. My rabbits are not usually fussy but they refused to eat it. I’m shocked that Haybox have started using plastic packaging when it is completely unnecessary. I’m really disappointed and have had to scramble to find a different brand :(

I have previously been ordering the soft cut hay from HayBox, but I noticed that my guinea pigs were preferring the thicker stems, picking them out and leaving the soft brown leaves. So I switched to the course cut hay and they love it! Lovely thick stems, nice green colour. All three of my guinea pigs are 2 years old and good hay eaters.

This was really long and stalky and brilliant for keeping back teeth worn down. Sadly, something seems to have changed and it's all chopped up in to much smaller pieces and nowhere near as stalky.

Had a few issues with the Timothy blend. I found it really dusty, my one Bunny Georgie suffers with some kind of dust allergy having chopped dusty hay did not help. So had a batch of Timothy course cut and soft cut sent out. And I think the picture says it all. Two Happy Bunnies. HayBox were very helpful with my previous issues and it was quickly resolved.

Hello, I have been buying gay from you for over 10 years now, but I must say that yhe latest change not only surprised me coz you're using plastic bags.
But also the bunnies are not into this hay as much as before. It seems a bit more dusty also due to being cut to small pieces. And dust and small pieces of hay can be harmful to them.
So I'm not really sure how these changes benefit to your customers. I will try one more time and order the coarse type,but if it's the same result then unfortunately I'll have to seek alternative.
The old packaging was much better, hay less dusty.

Used to be really good quality, dust free hay, however they've now switched to vacuum packed. As a result of this switch their hay now comes a lot of dust which my rabbits, myself and my boyfriend are all allergic to even with a permanent air purifier on. Will sadly have to be switching companies as a result of this recent change.

Amazing hay… but the quality ruined by being compressed.
I do appreciate that compression of hay into the plastic bags does saving the delivery costs probably, but PLEASE do not compress the coarse hay!!! Leave it loose as it was.

I have been ordering this hay box for years now and have absolutely loved it with no issues until now. Unfortunately since the change in packaging the quality seems to have drastically gone down, the hay strands are much shorter and have since started to get a lot of wastage as my bunny moves it all around searching for the longer thicker strands. I never once had this problem previously. The hey also seems to be rather dusty now which again was never the case before the change in packaging. I have loved buying this product for years now but I am sad to say the product I loved seems to no longer exist and therefore I am going to have to seek out an alternative to Hay Box which is honestly a big shame.

Not as good as it used to be. Don't like the plastic bags. Although very green it's very dusty and bitty not long strands,just falls through the hay feeder so have alot of waste, Only purchased here as my supplier is closed over Xmas period. Won't purchase again

Unfortunately, since the switch to plastic wrapped small bales, the quality feels less than what it used to be. No more box of soft long strands that feel fresh as I give them to my rabbits. This now feels like the same prickly stubby compressed hay that I used to get at any pet shop.

I’ve been using this hay for sometime now and my piggies absolutely love it. However since the packaging has changed the strands / stems seem to be a lot shorter and there is more waste / dust resulting in me having to purchase more regularly.
Is there an explanation to this?

Great quality hay, my chinchillas are really really picky & they love this stuff. Plenty of coarse bits to keep one of them really happy while the other one clears up the rest.

Two months ago i found blue plastic string/tarpaulin in the box which lucky I spotted. Also, past few months quality of hay has been very poor. Bunnies eating less and a lot going to waste. Now this month in the new plastic wrapping the bunnies will not touch the hay at all. They dislike it. Also, the hay strands appear a lot shorter. The box it comes in is also smaller. Further to this I only received 1 of the 3 hay boxes i ordered. Now I have the issue of trying to plan to be home to take delivery of the missing order when i was supposed to be away the whole weekend inc. Friday. Yodel are awful. DPD were great. It is possible the bunnies may still continue not to eat the hay due to it being vaccumed sealed in plastic. I have already cancelled my subscription and found alternative supplier.
